I am absolutely obsessed with metallics, it's probably my favorite trend going on this season - anyone that is someone is totally rocking metallics this season:

The best thing about metallics is that it can be incorporated into almost anything - accessories, jackets, tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, and even nail polish. There's no need to go overboard though, you can make a huge fashion statement by just incorporating a little bit of metallic elements into your gear.

After seeing many ready-to-wear spring/summer 2011 collections during fashion week this year, it's safe to say the trend of metallics is not going anywhere anytime soon - many designers have incorporated more metallics and golds into their collections.
