Lindsay Lohan Scoop: From Rehab To Shoe Designer?

Today's Fashion Fix Scoop will take you into a world of drugs, sexuality, and shoes! - Wait a second, it sure sounds very much like Lindsay Lohan's world, doesn't it?

America's favorite red headed train wreck, Lindsay Lohan, is making another attempt at climbing up the market ladder - this time by creating "her very own" shoe line. 

It's no secret, there's been major buzz within the industry about Lohan - whether it's about the different types of drugs she's using, if she's really homosexual or not, or where she has been partying all night until after 3am.

Lohan has been in and out of jail/rehab all through out most of the year 2010 (her most recent stunt in rehab has been extended until early 2011) - This news may come off as an upper or downer to many people, it really depends on how the actions of the "has been star" rubs them (if they even do).

Lohan's shoe line will be added to her current fashion brand, "6126" - the shoes that she'll be "designing" are set to debut during autumn of next year, 2011.

Fashionably speaking, I'm not quite too thrilled with many celebrities who attempt to become "fashion designers" just to bring about their struggling-burned careers back into flaming light. Since Lohan has the ability to design shoes while in rehab, then I guess her drug treatment is going rather smooth - I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for her next relapse, which will most likely be the next "major scoop".

Trend Alert: Military Styled Denim Jackets (Huge)

Hello fashionistas, we are living in a mainstream world consisting of everything pop culture, where a trend can be hot now and cold tomorrow - which brings me to the discussion of the next pop craze,  denim jackets - military styled denim jackets. Today's Fashion Scoop will show you how celebrities rock the denim trend, while also pointing you in the right styling direction.

Celebrities like Kanye West and Rihanna have both been fashionably guilty for wearing denim jackets while making many public appearances.


Rocking The Trend: 

Rule number (1): Never do double denim (ex. a pair of jeans with a chamboray/denim top). 


You're best bet would be to wear no other denim at all while wearing you're denim jacket - the point is to rock the current trend and bring out your edge with the denim jacket - forget everything else.


Rule number (2): Accessorize the trend, one must always remember to accessorize - a simple bracelet, chain, and handbag will kick some edge into your gear.


The best shoes for women to wear with this rock star image are booties with heels or knee-high boots that fold at the top.. Tip: Denim also goes well with leather and suede shoes.

Men can pair their denim jackets with khaki pants and leather sneakers, or military styled boots to match the image of the military styled denim jacket.

Bravo Network's Season 2 Premiere of "The Fashion Show"

Tonight is the premiere of Bravo's anticipated season 2 of it's reality TV series, "The Fashion Show". This new season will be hosted by fashion designer, Isaac Mizrahi, and supermodel, Iman (who replaces last season's co-host, Kelly Rowland) - which is very exciting news to hear! Today's Fashion Fix Scoop will focus on introducing you to the cast of competitors on tonight's premiere, while I'll also keep you up-to-date every Tuesday night with all the latest buzz on the contestants, challenges, and reviews!

Since Project Runway was moved to Lifetime, Bravo has now filled in it's old spot with The Fashion Show for it to compete against. (This is great because I can never get enough fashion!).


This new season will feature 12 designers competing against each other to create the ultimate collection, as well as a chance of winning $125,000 from TRESemme Professional Hair Care.


However, things have changed quite a bit this season - the contestants are now split up into two fashion houses. Each fashion host must create a fashion show for each episode, from scratch! The show airs every Tuesday night at 10pm/9pm central.

Major Boot Trends For Fall/Winter 2010

There's nothing more exciting this season than the latest trends in designer boots, which is why today's Fashion Fix Scoop will focus on all major styles of trending boots this season - while also pointing you in the right direction of great shopping deals and discounts!

Since we're currently in fall, it's obvious boots are a major trend this season - whether it's booties, ankle boots or knee-high boots. These categories are all trending right now and there's many options of styles to choose from:

Booties: They come in all types of styles and go with almost anything, making this type of boot the trendiest of them all for this season. Versatility is usually the better option for many women and it's not difficult to find a pair of booties you'll love, whether it's leather, suede, heeled, flat, or laced.


Ankle Boots: You can take the laced approach (which look great made in suede or leather) when it comes to ankle boots (which are major right now) or you can opt for the fold-down collar approach (which is always sexy with a pair of jeans or nice pencil skirt) - remember you can still go further in dept when choosing these styles, don't forget how sexy a laced peep toe ankle boot can be!

Knee High Boots: Faux-fur on knee high boots is real huge this season, you can rock this trend in either heels or choose to go flat as well - without killing any animals!

Is Mariel Haenn Hollywood's Trendsetter?

Many people are intrigued by celebrity wardrobes, the stylish outfits they wear, and many of which become a popular guide of fashionable trends for the general audience - which is why I want to focus today's Fashion Fix Scoop on celebrity fashion stylist, Mariel Haenn.

Mariel Haenn is one my favorite fashion stylists, she's worked with top notch A-list celebrities such as Jay-Z, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Meagan Good and now she's making quite a name for herself as well - she's currently the image creator and mastermind behind Rihanna and Ciara's fashion.

Based on all the ad-campaigns she's been involved in (Cover Girl, Sean Jean, Pepsi and etc.), her superstar clientele, and all the styling for fashion editorial she's done, it seems Haenn is pretty much Hollywood's trendsetter - respectively.


Working with such public figures not only puts Haenn in a position where she's not just styling clients anymore, she's now reached a level where she's setting fashion trends all over the world.

The military look and leather gloves became a major trend last spring/summer season, right around the same time of Rihanna's music video, "Hard" debut (you can also see Ciara is also wearing leather gloves in her music video "Work" as well).

It would be great to see Mariel Haenn behind the scenes while working with her major clientele, something like her own reality TV show would really do me justice - well that's if she even has time for that.

This Week In Fashion Headlines

There's been a lot going on this past week within the industry, many new projects have developed and designers have made headlines. Since it is Friday, today's Fashion Fix Scoop will cover all the buzz everyone wont stop talking about all week!

Did You Know?
So there was a recent article I read on MTV.com about wannabe celebrity designer, JWOW (from Jersey Shore), regarding her sexy clothing line, "Filthy Couture", which she launched back in July. Well apparently, there was a huge rumor which originated from a post on www.radar.com, claiming that JWOW was forced to shut down after three months due to some type of trademark issue with another company who also had a similar name.

JWOW has recently confirmed via Twitter, that those rumors were false: 

"clear things up! I'm designing a new fall line but holding it off for something very exciting! + my management is getting my line in stores. Online sales have stopped for these 2 reasons. Lol these stories r hysterical." 

It seems everyone now days thinks they can just have a successful clothing line or write a NY Times Best Seller just because they've had a little bit of TV play - hey I guess if the shoe fits, maybe they should wear it, right?

The fashion industry just got a new power woman this week! That's right, Forbes.com has added Tory Burch to their "Power Women" online column as No. 88 out of their 100 Most Powerful Women list - by the end of 2010, Burch's company will have 39 new boutiques in 4 countries and distribution in 500 department stores worldwide.

The article goes deeper into the upbringing of Burch's successful career and also mentions when she won the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year award back in 2008. This is great for Tory, I enjoy her work very much, her Spring/Summer 2011 shows during fashion week were so amazing!
