Paris Fashion Week Reviews And Trends To Watch: Spring/Summer 2011

Paris Fashion Week is over and it's now time to review the best collections and to name the latest future trends to watch during spring/summer 2011. Take a look at the pieces I personally felt represented some of the best collections during fashion week:

Valentino
John Galliano
Giambattista Valli
Many designers presented great collections during fashion week, but all the buzz seems to be about Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Giambattista Valli, Stella McCartney, John Galliano, Givenchy, Akris, Loewe, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lanvin, and Christian Dior.

One of my favorite moments was of course when Sarah Burton introduced her first collection since the death of Alexander McQueen. All of her pieces had his original traits as well as the same concepts of design - overall a great collection in her mentors name:

Future spring/summer 2011 fashion trends you should really be aware of are dots and ruffles - this is going to be huge, dots and ruffles were incorporated in Valentino, Lanvin, and other collections as well.

Designers like Mark Jacobs (who executed Louis Vuitton's collection) and Jean Paul Gaultier have chosen a rather interesting route, taking us back in time to the 70's and the 80's. Colorful prints were also in almost every collection during fashion week, take a look at these pieces from Loius Vuitton, Akris, and Stella McCartney - notice how detailed the prints of each piece are.

Exciting Moments During Fashion Week: Jean Paul Gaultier took us back to the 80's, and also had the lovely Beth Ditto walk the runway as well. This collection really stood out, was fun and revealed creativity with diverse selections of textures within it's pieces.
